Bill Clinton has revealed he is a fan of Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett‘s recent musical collaboration.

The former President was a guest on Queen Latifah‘s talk show last night, where he was asked about life as a grandfather, and his wife Hilary’s chances of moving the family back into the White House if she runs for the presidency in 2016, among other things.

In one of the more lighthearted moments of the interview, Latifah asked Clinton to share some of the songs on his playlist and his face lit up just before he replied: “I am fascinated by this partnership between Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett… He has allowed her to present a whole different side of herself in a secure way that’s mind boggling when you think about [her] image.”

“He’s found youth in her, and she’s found comfort in him. It’s magic. I love that.”

Gaga has since thanked Clinton for the kind words, sharing a link to the interview with fans her and tweeting: “Former US President Bill Clinton had some wonderful things to say about me and Tony on The Queen Latifah Show. We love u Bill Thanku! (sic).”

After months of speculation that Lady Gaga was planning to explore her early jazz influences in her next album, the 28-year-old pop star revealed that she will be joining forces with 87-year-old crooner Tony Bennett to record an album of Jazz standards. The album, titled Cheek To Cheek, was released in September to a largely positive critical reception; debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and selling 226,000 copies in the U.S. as of October 15, according to Nielsen. The album also made Bennett the oldest living act to earn a No. 1 album in the United States.

“He’s the reason that I’m here today, that I’m still making music, that I’m still excited to make music,” Gaga told E! News while promoting the album. Not that you’d expect someone with Gaga’s ostentatious style to suffer confidence issues, she also credits Bennett with giving her a completely renewed confidence on the stage:

“Even singing with Tony now and going back on tour, it has completely changed the way I am on stage. It actually revived something in me… A certain resilience, a certain confidence.”

Clinton was recently selected to receive the Maria Fisher Founder’s Award by The Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, in honor of his contributions in celebrating and promoting jazz all around the world.
