A few weeks after we launched The Jazz Line, we wanted to showcase a new, exciting Jazz video every week. To that end, we created the ‘Featured Video’ section of the website which would prominently display a video in the sidebar of most pages of the site. Now… months after introducing the Featured Video, we are now changing the video for the first time (better late than never I suppose…).

There will always be a special place in our hearts for the video, which is why it is deserving of it’s own video article.

The first video to feature on The Jazz Line was a performance by keys-master and Berklee professor Jetro Da Silva at the Berklee Performance Center in Boston, MA. Da Silva is a renowned keyboardist and producer, who has worked with the likes of Whitney Houston, Jamie Foxx, Earth Wind and Fire, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, and many more.

The video features Da Silva alongside up-and-coming Saxophonist and (then) Berklee student Alex Han playing the Grover Washington Jr. Classic, ‘Winelight’.

What ensued was an energetic performance that had the audience clapping along to every beat.
