If you’re experiencing issues with streaming video from The Jazz Line, first try closing your browser and restarting your device. If that doesn’t work, try the advice below:
If your videos start and stop repeatedly:
A broadband internet connection is required for a trouble-free playback experience. To stream video from The Jazz Line, you will need an internet connection that is at least 2.5 Mbps; however, we recommend an internet connection that supports at least a 10Mbps download speed. To test the speed of your internet, visit speedtest.net and click on the “Begin Test” button. Once the test is complete, compare your result against our requirements/recommendations.
If your internet speed is slow or inconsistent, you can pause the video for a minute to give your browser more time to buffer (pre-download) the video, which should allow you to watch the entire video uninterrupted. You may also want to consider limiting your viewing experience to Standard Definition. If High Definition (HD) playback is enabled, click the “HD” button in the bottom right hand corner of our video player and select “SD” instead.
If you are using any other bandwidth intensive application on your computer, or any other device on your network (e.g. Skype, Dropbox, online games, etc…), you may want to close these applications while watching videos on The Jazz Line.
If you are watching our videos over a wireless connection and your video is repeatedly starting and stopping, you may want to move your device closer to your Wi-Fi router to take advantage of a stronger signal, or utilize a wired connection to your router.
If you’re experiencing slow/choppy playback, you may have issues with the performance of your CPU. Try exiting any CPU-intensive applications (e.g. games, editing software, etc…) or restarting your computer.
If your videos won’t start at all:
Our video player is designed to work well with the following browsers: IE 9 or later; Firefox 33 or later. Chrome 31 or later. Safari 5.1 or later. Opera 26 or later. iOS Safari 7.1 or later. Android Browser 4.4 or later. Chrome for Andorid 39 or later. While video playback may still work on older devices; however, we do not “officially” support them.
If you have a modern device and your video will not start, you may want to disable any ad blocking software installer on your computer/browser, as it may interfere with video streaming from our servers.
If that doesn’t work, try clearing your browser cache. To open the browser cache window in Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer, press Cmd+Shift+Delete (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows). For other browsers, please check your browser’s help page.
If that doesn’t work, you may want to try using a different web browser. There may be a temporary issue or incompatible setting with the browser you originally used, so switching to another browser may allow you play the video.
You may also want to try adding TheJazzline.com (*.thejazzline.com) as a trusted site in your firewall software.
