The Glastonbury Festival in England has always prided itself on having something for everyone, and 2011 proved to be no exception. Closing on June 26th, this years festival played has already played host to the likes of Mos Def, Femi Kuti, Matthew Herbert Big Band, George Clinton with Parliament / Funkadelic, Toots & the Maytals, and Dr John; all alongside ‘Headliners’ U2, Coldplay, and Beyoncé.
Special mention must go to ‘The Eternal Performer” B.B. King, who performed on the main ‘pyramid’ stage of the festival, and courtesy of The BBC we have a video his June 24th performance of “Why I Sing The Blues.” No doubt legendary ‘The King of Blues’ was unfazed by the performance, which is one of just under 200 that he is scheduled to perform this year. Having released more than 50 albums, won 14 Grammys, and having performed over 10,000 concerts, there can be no doubt that B.B. King is one of the greatest performers of all time.
