Avishai Cohen will embark on a U.S. Tour in support of his ‘Dark Nights’ album.

The Israeli-born trumpeter will be joined by his Triveni trio-mate Nasheet Waits on drums and Eric Revis on bass as he makes a total of eleven stops on the tour; which kicks off on May 11 at The Blue Whale in Los Angeles before wrapping up on May 23 in Milwaukee, WI.

The ‘Dark Nights’ album perfectly showcases Cohen’s eclecticism, perfectly balancing the intimate lyricism of songs like Billy Strayhorn’s “Lush Life” with the electrifying pace of his original Ornette Coleman tribute “The OC.”

Speaking about his Triveni trio, Cohen said: “Whether we’re playing with guests or on our own as a trio, my approach to Triveni has been to challenge ourselves to balance freedom with self-restraint, to always stay lyrical and true.”
