Earth, Wind and Fire have performed ‘September’ on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ in celebration of the talk-show host’s birthday.

The iconic Soul/R&B super-group were invited to become the house band of the show during the on-air celebration of Ellen’s 54th Birthday last week.

At the end of the show the group performed one of their most popular songs, ‘September’; which is one of Ellen’s favorites.

A long list of of celebrities also took the time to appear in a special video offering their Birthday wishes to the host, including Lady Gaga, Lenny Kravitz, Eddie Murphy, and Ricky Gervais. Soul Legend Stevie Wonder and U2 front-man Bono also sang happy birthday to Ellen in the video.

Earth, Wind & Fire are one of the most prominent R&B groups in the history, having sold over 90 Million records to date. The group are featured in both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and have been awarded six Grammys and four American Music Awards in their illustrious 43-year long musical career.

Front-man Maurice White is one of the few founding members left in the group, which has seen a shocking 37 members come and go from the band during their long tenure.
