After settling a drawn out legal suit with her former record label, Hidden Beach, in February 2011; the critically acclaimed three-time grammy award winning singer/songwriter has now signed a new deal with Warner Brothers Records, it has been announced.
“I’ve always looked to empower my fans through my message of love, independence and strength,” comments Jill. “A lot has gone on in my life since my last album, so I’m extremely excited to share the new music with all of the people that have supported me these past ten plus years. This album is very revealing, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
Jill’s long and accomplished recording career began in 2000 with the release of her debut album, Who is Jill Scott? Words & Sounds, Vol. 1. After eleven years in the industry, Jill is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on her upcoming fourth studio album, The Light Of The Sun – The follow up to her last album, ‘The Real Thing: Words and Sounds Vol. 3.’, released in 2007. She has also been giving a sneak preview of the album to fans during her 20-city national arena tour with platinum recording artist and fellow neo-soul innovator, Maxwell.
The Light Of The Sun is due to for release later this year.
