Rackham Symphony Choir (RSC) is hosting its 12th annual Affair to Remember Fundraising Gala Saturday, February 8 at the Regency Manor, 25228 W. 12 Mile Rd. in Southfield, MI. This year’s theme is Arabian Nights and the evening will include dinner, dancing, full open bar and kicks off with the silent auction at 6 pm.

“We look forward to this night all year long as a chance to kick up our heels with our choir members, supporters, and all the friends that make our productions happen every year,” Rackham Managing Director Sheri Rogge said in a statement. “It’s a great evening out with a fabulous auction and entertainment.”

The evening will feature a performance by the Rackham Ensemble Singers and continue with dancing to Detroit’s premier band, Even Exchange – named Metro Detroit’s Favorite Trio by Metro Times. Guests can also participate in the $20 raffle for a first place prize of $2500 and second place price of an Apple iPad.

The Rackham Choir is known for their annual rendition of the holiday classic Too Hot Too Handel, which is a  jazz-gospel version of Handel’s classic Messiah. The yearly concert took place last month at the Detroit Opera House and featured jazz bassist Marion Hayden and pianist Alvin Waddles.

All proceeds from the event will go towards funding the Rackham Symphony Choir’s music and educational programs. Reservations cost $75 and can be purchased at http://rackhamchoir.org/an-2013/.
