Anita Baker is due to make the television debut of her Grammy-nominated single “Lately.”

The R&B singer/songwriter will perform the hit single on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!,’ which starts at 11.35pm on February 4.

“Lately” is nominated for Best Traditional R&B Performance at this year’s Grammys. Baker has been nominated for 16 Grammys in her illustrious 34 year career, and has taken home eight Grammys so far.

The song was first recorded by R&B singer Tyrese in 1998. Tyrese’s “Lately” reached No. 56 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 12 on the R&B chart; spending a total of thirteen weeks in the Hot 100.

“Lately” is the first single from Anita Baker’s highly anticipated album ‘Only Forever,’ peaking at No. 1 on the Billboard Adult R&B chart, and spending five consecutive weeks at the top of the Jazz singles chart after being released on August 7, 2012.

‘Only Forever’ will be Baker’s first album in eight years, following her 2005 holiday release ‘Christmas Fantasy.’ The album was originally slated for release in October 2012; however, it has now been pushed back more than three times, and is now due for a Spring 2013 release.
