The smoking jazz songstress Cécile McLorin Salvant has been lighting the jazz world on fire ever since her stellar Grammy nominated debut album WomanChild was released last year. The 24 year-old chanteuse captures the very essence of jazz greats like Billie Holiday, Dina Washington and Abbey Lincoln all the while staying true to her own roots.
She has performed at festivals all over the world, and now she can add the Ann Arbor Summer Festival to her list of live concerts. Salvant is one of the jazz artists set to perform at the annual festival, which takes place June 13 – July 6 in Ann Arbor, MI. Last year, Salvant made her debut in Detroit during the Detroit Jazz Festival and performed classic swing tunes while accompanied by a big band orchestra led by David Berger.
Now, she’s coming back to Michigan to wow fans with classic standards and will be joined by her amazing band, which includes pianist Aaron Diehl, Paul Sikivie on bass
and Pete Van Nostrand on drums.
The concert is set to take place at the Power Center in Ann Arbor.
